The whole Leonard Cohen album is streaming at NPR now. »
This is turning out to be a really good Monday.
I own (didn’t steal, even) the entire Leonard Cohen discography and it is not enough.
Reblogged from naming blogs is easy.
The video for Youth Lagoon’s “July” is everything a music video should be right now, i.e. filmic, implausible and sad. And apocalypse-fantasy-feeding of course.
Azealia Banks, “Liquorice.” She rules 2011 for a lot of reasons and this is one of them. The badness of the beats and the goodness of her voice make for such a trick; it’s like, you thought you couldn’t love this but it turns out you can’t not.

Kurt Vile and his band of long-haired rockers perform the melancholic Baby’s Arms for La Blogothèque in the midst of some Parisian bushes.
“Des cheveux, des cheveux, des cheveux. Des T-Shirts usés, mités, des jeans troués, des lunettes noires et des pompes fatiguées. Des guitares, du bruit ! Synthèse : des anormaux, des asociaux, des hippies, des fumeurs d’herbe.”
My favourite thing today. Oh, and it’s raining.

Would you like to know how Feist would sound if she’d be the frontwoman of a synthpop band? Clock Opera make that happen with their remix of How Come You Never Go There.
Remember when I told you about Clock Opera? No? Anyway………

“Kill for Love,” Chromatics. Years ago, I was talking about how much I loved their first album, and my then-best friend’s then-boyfriend said oh, you just like “emo electro.” And that was true, and is.
