POWER DOESN’T CARE WHAT YOU WANT. In other news, did you know that her “Cheerleader” is the soundtrack if I ever make a sex tape?

“Whip Appeal” by Frank Ocean (SBTRKT Edit)
I just love how SBTRKT understands the best elements of a song and leaves them be while still adding his own unique touch. Two of my favorite people on one song: does it get any better?
No it probably doesn’t.

Bullett: Chromatics Return With a Private Show in NYC »

But not that private, cos I was there. So. Good. And they finished all over me with “Running Up That Hill” HOLLA NO. 23 MOST PLAYED SONG EVERRR.

What we lost was a far-away projected fantasy, whether it was Carey’s heartbreakingly blingy good life or the Bunuel-ish night trip of Bjork’s Bachelorette. This is the last frantic thing I wrote before I left Toronto and today it’s in the Globe & Mail. I fucked up a fact or two, but hopefully it’ll be fixed, and you won’t be mad.
Here’s video of Juliette Lewis performing “Satisfaction” at the rehearsal a few nights ago at City Winery. I just realized today that LENNY FUCKING KAYE was in the house band last night.
OH MY GOD I mean it’s no Bjork/Pj Harvey, but still. I have it pretty bad for Juliette Lewis. A few months ago I went to a talk with her, in Toronto, and the whole time I just wanted to go home with her and drink whiskey in slipdresses and talk shit about boys.
