internrealtalk:

My friend Sara, who is a really good writer for someone who spells her own name wrong, started this Tumblr in response to #editorrealtalk. Get your follow on that.

I’ve Been Doing Some Parties for Style.com

and I met Cintra Wilson who is one of my personal writer-goddesses ahhhhh #unhumblebrag

So here’s the thing I wrote about the Joe Fresh opening (where the above magic happened). Here’s something about the Hunger Games premiere. Here’s Clive Owen and, even crushier, Dree Hemingway. Here is a new site called the Byrne Notice. Alright cool.

Things I Most Remember Writing in 2011

Today on Twitter someone RT’d a Dorothy Parker: “I hate writing. I love having written.” I often feel the opposite, but here, after a year in which I said way way way too much, is a list of pieces I’m pretty sure I would write again.

Here is a picture of me in a work environment! Smiling!

A guide to having sex with me once. (Currently n/a.)

The fall of Galliano.

The neo-colonialism of “tribal” style.

A profile of Suzy Lake.

A refutation of some idiocy about Slutwalk.

A charter of womens responsibilities.

The time I went to my cousin’s bachelorette in Niagara Falls.

How books inspire fashion designers. And whether or not said designers read said books.

Handy explanation of why guys all look the same. Racist!

Why it’s better when summer is over.

Word of the Day, nay, Year: Millennial.

Thoughts on Melancholia and the end of the world.

A profile of Jane Birkin.

Maybe I missed something but year’s so over now.

What is the opposite of Angry Birds? This just became the only video game I’ve ever wanted to play.

Up all night. Working. Not like I used to stay up all night Thursdays. Soon in the dark I’ll pack for the weekend in New York with Carli and maybe/hopefully that’ll be more like how it used to be. If only I were packing like this. A typewriter and bourbon in my carry-on. Imagine?!

Canada’s on the cover of Wallpaper*! Okay, only in Canada, and Argentina’s on the cover in Argentina, and South Africa’s on the cover in South Africa … Wallpaper*, you sneaky mom. Anyway, here it is, and here I am all posing with it because I contributed, and print is fancy, and I’m happy for a second.
